I've got loads of rugs & they're all stored in plastic bags on shelves & take up masses of room. I realised that it was getting ridiculous so decided to sort it out once & for all!

I bought some large vacuum storage bags off ebay & have placed each rug in one of these, with a label saying size & weight, & then put the vacuum on them. OMG the amount of space I now have is amazing! They suck down to about 75% of their normal size. The bag keeps them dry & away from mice as well. I don't know why I've not done this before & would recommend to anyone.

The bags were 80cm x 100cm & were around £1.30 each & reusable.......worth every penny. ;)

I did this but the bags kept bursting. Which eBay shop did you get yours from? I have two garden boxes/trunks, a big plastic box and 3 huge Shires rug bags full of unused rugs taking up a ton of room so would love some decent vacuum bags :0)

I've got a couple for duvets and pillows etc at home. One stayed as it was but air got into the other and it is back to the original size.
I acquired a load of wall mounted saddle racks cheaply and have them fixed along one wall of the barn, at just above head height. The rugs hang by fastened front buckles and get well aired so they don't smell. I grade them by size and weight so I know where to find one I need. Works well for me.
