OK, so this was the first ever show for our newly formed riding club - and what a show it was! We had a good mixture of classes, and I could not believe the support! We had three rings on the go - two showing rings (an in hand and a ridden) and we also had jumping indoors on surface.

The showing classes went down a storm, with lots of entries - we had an ex racehorse class, which I was a little worried about putting on, as you seem to only get one or two entries, but we had 6 entries and they were all fantastic quality, easily county standard horses! One of the ex-racers went ridden champion, and then took overall supreme, which made me smile (I have a soft spot for the ex racers).

The in hand ring was really well supported, and again, the quality was amazing, we even had RIHS qualified horses there!

The showjumping was extremely popular - we had a chase me charlie, it came off brilliantly, no one fell off, and the winning rider jumped nearly 5ft! To finish the day we put on a 'horse and hound' jumping round, where the riders rode as fast as they could around a small course, then got off and ran the course with their dogs! I had a sinking feeling that I would have to check our insurance to see if we were covered for heart attacks! That class had 15 entries, and I've never laughed so hard in my life!

I will get some pictures of the day up, but for now here is a piccie of our 'prize table';
