Just wondering if it's worth trying Dante in a double jointed bit again.
When we got him I rode him in a double jointed full cheek snaffle, but I found him a little strong and resistant in that then.
He's now in a myler mullen barrel hanging cheek - which is basically a straight bar (even if it's curved. it's still solid...) and I'm just wondering if the pressure of this is confusing him slightly? At the moment I'm having to use quite strong clear rein aids, when normally I prefer to ride mostly off the seat and leg and have a very (and I mean very) light contact, which means that a straight bar usually works well for me if horse is happy with it.

I'm just thinking that a double jointed bit might give a less confusing signal? Is it worth a try?
I'm just curious

Always attempting to learn about these things!

I'm not entirely sure how to explain (far too tired to be thinking xD but I try)
But I do know that straight bar bits both promote leaning and aren't the best for steering... which probably isn't doing us any favours at the moment...
maybe I'll just try to explain again in the morning?! or I'll just try it and see... hmm....
