Please ignore my face - he felt awful tonight so I wasn't the happiest bunny & was concentrating on staying calm!!!!!
Thanks x

i find loads of leg yeilding and shoulder in excercises help with straightness, this can be done out hacking....when i first backed mine he couldn't move 3 steps in a straight line, now he is loads better.....unless inside a dressage arena!!

I had done some leg yielding & shoulder in but trouble was we were out with my hubby & our dog so I didn't really have the chance to really get him going forwards so he felt behind the leg & gobby!
He really falls out through the left shoulder - I try to stop him by keeping the rein against his neck & my left leg on but he just ignores me really! I'll try half halting & see if it helps
Thanks guys

do you do mostly hacking?i do and find that always being concious(sp)of keeping to the left,we are not so supple moving to the right.

I do at the moment as our school is being resurfaced! I find it much easier to school him on circles that in straight lines out hacking!
I find if I ride with my left leg behind the girth he sometimes is better but sometimes he ignores my leg & I can't ride like that forever!

just looking at pic...is your right hand a little to the left?maybe just the pic but i do it without thinking when on the road.just an idea.
