Strange Behavior

ok, Monty is a little strange anyway lol but i thought i would ask your opinions on a littlehabit he has and see if you could come up with answers?!?

Monty has a habit when we take him for walks around the roads he qiute enjoys dragging his head down and licking the tarmac! he just tries to stand there licking it.
He is fed a feed balencer and chaff and has a lump of rock salt in the field which he loves to lick aswell? (he gets through his qiucker than both the big horses put together)

Should i be worried or has he just taken a likeing to the road

how bizarre, i don't think i'd let one of mine do that, it must be disgustingly dirty, prob carcinogenic too!

We try not to, we pull his head up, but it will do it at the first chance he gets

I read an article once about a lovely bold horse that used to suck the wing mirrors of cars as he passed! Maybe Monty read the article too!!!???? x

One of my friends ponys was terrible for grass, so she put some grass reins on, i know some people think they are harsh, but it may get him out the habit of it when your hacking out!!

Cant imagine what people must think !!!! Lol

I had one that loved concrete, i had one very embarrassing day when the vet came and i could hardly trot him up because he was so attached to a particular spot!! I'm not sure why he did it!

My horse likes to lick car windscreens.....parked cars obviously....I'm dreading the day he tries doing it to a moving vehicle.

He may be lacking something, like vitamins or something, i know thats what it means if they eat dirt, maybe try him with a salt lick or something.
