I fed my mare lunch time as usual, she seemed quite happy eating and not acting unusual but when I went back to her to put headcoller and rug on she was standing with her head to one side . I walked up to her but she backed up in the stable with her head still to one side, she did not want me to touch her. I thought I'd leave her alone for a few minutes while I turned my other horse out to see if she was any better, she was now standing normally but with her head very low to the ground. As soon as I turned other horse out the mare came to the front of the stable and was quite happy for me to put rug on and headcoller with no problems. I stroked her head and ears and she did shake her head slightly. She walked to the gate quite happily and then galloped off to her friend and was happy grazing. It looked most odd at the time and she just did not look happy. I am wondering if it could be an ear infection or mites although I could not see anything in her ears the skin seemed slightly flaky inside
Any ideas please.
