Hi all-
Nice question for you all on a rainy day! Noticed mare was in season on sunday as some sticky dicharge under tail which she gets now and again- however on closer inspection some of the discharge was a reddy/brown colour. Still a little bit today- her back (where her ovaries) are is very sore and I'll take her temp when I get home (had to buy another digital thermom old one died!) as wondering if it is possible for mares to have UTIs? Or just a really bad season due to the lovely warm weather we've had recently- spring grass (which she can't eat as is muzzled when out!). Mare has never had a foal/ seen a stallion.
Would love any opinions or experiences on similar. Ill prob ring my vet later to check this with him- but in the mean time!.. Thanks!
