i have a 14hh 20year old mare, who has never shown any signs of lameness before. however a couple of weeks ago when taking her out of the stable her hind leg appeared completely limp, hanging and she wouldnt put it down and seemed unable to straighten it properly. she showed so signs of pain and there was no heat anywhere in her leg. i decided to keep her walking and after a few circuits her leg seemed to gradually go back to normal then she was walking fine! there was then no problems for another two weeks and she was worked as normal, until it happened again exactly the same, a limp hind leg, but upon walking it loosened up within seconds. has this happened to anyone before and if so does anyone know what it might be?
