strange lump :/

My mare has a small lump on her chest it is only very small, I had always thought it was a melanoma as she has a lot of them. The other day she came in from the field and the lump had been bleeding a lot I cleaned the lump up and it looked normal. Then I squeezed it and some blood followed by a small amount of puss came out then more blood. Has anyone got any ideas what it could possibly be?

I think you should get this checked by a vet. The signs are the same for a number of things ranging from an abcess to sarcoids or various other things (e.g. foreign body) i.e. it can be something not important that will clear up quickly, or something more important that needs further investigation. Unfortunately, not always able to tell just from the signs.
