Hi there
Has anyone any idea on this lump in girrh area. Planning to get checked by vet but just interested if anyone has seen this before.
Pony is out of condition and overweight so wondered about fat pads but not usual place.
I can push poke and grab without any response . She seems to have one coming on other side also !

It does look like a horse fly bite. I can’t think of anything else in that location that it could be.

That would be a “wait and see” if it were me.

If I knew why it was there (such as a haematoma after a fall where the hoof was caught under the brisket or obvious fly bite that I had seen happen) I would cold hose and see. If I did not know what it was, I would call the vet.

As you don't know what it is, I would call the vet.

I would get the vet. Mine had a lump on his neck that just kept getting bigger and spread to the other side. Turned out it was full of pus. Heaven knows how it go there, the theory was he probably had a blackthorn that no one noticed and things progressed from there. Apparently the spray of pus across the yard was spectacular!!

Would be a vet case for me.

Is it hot? Could be a wasp sting.... could be a kick.... could be an infection. Lots to go with but mostly all will need some sort of veterinary intervention.
