Sorry tried to add a pic and failed. Two lumps about 2.5 inches diameter, raised about 0.5 inch and flat. appeared over night ( whilst turned out) this is the second time this summer these lumps have appeared, they took around 4 weeks to go down last time. Was assuming it was a fly bite/sting but someone has just suggested it could be something she's eaten ? No heat in them and they don't seem to worry her.

This sounds very much like what my friend and I were discussing only this morning.
She rang me for advice as she was very worried about this flat lump that had appeared on her shetlands belly. It was exactly like the lump I noticed on my mini mare's belly a couple of days ago.
They are not hot or bothersome for our ponies so I had decided just to monitor it and today it had gone down by half it's original size.
We also suspected fly bites or perhaps something they had laid on.
I wouldn't worry unless it gets bigger or gets hot and sore, then I would call the vet.

It is odd, i have just emailed pics to my vet. The lump is now probably 4 times the size it was on saturday but flatter, like whatever the lump is made up of is spreading out. Shame i can't work out how to put photo's on here ! Will let you know what vet thinks.

Sounds like Urticaria also known as a hystamine reaction or more commonly Hives.

Both my two had them earlier in the year from paper wasp bites.

Flat circular bumps that don't appear to be sore or itchy and they disappear after a day or so.

Vet has confirmed fly bother. Sounds similar ,although bumps start off round and flat they spread out over days and get a lot worse before they get better & took 4 weeks to go down , the lump i found on saturday is now probably 5 times bigger and they do itch her ,she knows how to plant the offending area directly in front of me which means scratch me please. I'm happy it's nothing more sinister, she's a rescue horse and you can never quite know whats going to creep out of the woodwork as time goes on...
