Strange lumps on rear legs

Hi

I have recently clipped my 15h3 Cob x Frisian gelding's feathers and as a result the farrier was alarmed by some lumps and bumps which are now visible under his ergots on his hind legs.

They are symmetrical (albeit a little larger on his hind left), not soft but not hard (feel like too much skin), don't feel like they have fluid in them, don't cause any discomfort and he is 100% sound.

I think I have managed to attach a picture.

Does anyone know what they are?

Any assistance appreciated.

No it's not serious, just make sure in the winter you keep his legs as dry and mud free as possible. Because of the creases the wet can get in-between and make the skin sore. I wash mine once a month with Dermoline and have him injected for mites every 6 months. It's nothing to worry about just cosmetic really.
 
I think you will find it is more likely CPL, vets in this country, including mine until I sent him the research UCL Vet School research, don't seem to be very aware of it. Too much skin is a fair description of one of the symptoms.

Yes I've read about CPL and nearly gave myself heart failure. But my horse doesn't have any sores and no swelling. My vet assured me it's not CPL but I will keep a very close eye on it.
