I've always wandered this, Coblet's passport is with the Miniature Horse and Pony Society. Hes a cob  I have googled it and according to some websites, he is a 'miniature cob' because he is only 13.3.

It is correct to him, has had vetenary stamps from when he was 2 in there (he was bought from gipsies, who wouldnt have passported him anyway) and has contact info on his first peoper owners.

Just wantering why hes in the MHPS and not a gypsy cob one

It was cheaper, or someone was doing a batch at a reduced rate.

I have seen horses with Donkey Society (or something) passports. Dealers will do anything to save a couple of pounds. I wouldn't worry about it.

My liver chestnut show pony is passported with the Palomino Society! I queried this with the vet once and she said it may be that my girl was bought from a hill sale (she was) and passported there at the sale en masse by one society or another. Its fairly common, and as long as the passport matches the pony I really wouldnt worry :) x
