ok so our yard has a case of strangles
and we are on lock down
(no horses on no horses off and so on)

and that will not change til we get every horse given the all clear

any way my boy has grown so i wil be parting with his rugs but to be safe i want to clean disinfect and reproof them before parting with them

we have a large washing machine to do them in (not a normal house one)

but i have never washed rugs, i have the washer which state on the bottle ir kills rings worm, strangles and so on

i dont have reproof yet so can any one recommend me one?

also when doing it do i wash then put reproof in the washing machine and put on a "wash cycle again"

any one and steps on how to do this would be great!

I have used Nikwax wash-in rug proof in the past but this winter have had brilliant results using Gold Label Universal Rugproof spray. Bought it online for about £15 for 1litre and it has treated 3 rugs. Wash rugs and dry them, then spray and leave to dry. Leaves the rugs lovely and soft and the rain beads off rug.
