Anybody that has recently bought or is planning on buying from Beeston Auction need to know that that the place in riddled with STRANGLES. We bought a very poorly foal on the 13th of this month, who at only 4 months old should have still been with his mum not going through the stress of an auction! He sadly passed away in our arms last night after 2 weeks of fighting strangles and pneumonia. The stud that took him to the auction and the auction for letting them should be ashamed of themselves. Hoping this will help stop any other ponies ending up the same way as our little Douglas

Why the heck did you buy a foal you knew to be poorly and take it back to potentially infect your other horses?

Any new horse/foal/3 legged donkey is an unknown risk. Even those coming from 'good' homes.

So sorry babeandbessy to hear about the little one. Very sad, I hope you're ok.

Ok looked poorly but may not been showing signs of strangles. We can't judge we weren't there but I choose to believe that OP brought this foal out of the kindness of her heart

I never said OP didn't do it out of kindness of heart - of course she did!

But many people do things out of kindness of heart, and don't think of the consequences.

Please report the auction and seller. They should have their licence removed report them to Defra if it was poorly and there were visable signs. Get a vets report sent to them as well.
