sounds good....but long winded and expensive! who going to pick up that bill??? yo or livery.... i dont have the money to pay for yearly test etc
'All scheme members must then follow strict guidelines (STEPS guidelines) to reduce further risk, including that posed by new arrivals or taking horses to shows, events or competitions.'
i take my horse out training and competing twice a week....... i hate to think what the 'guidlines' entail....... my horse may end up in permanent isolation!
also when we got strangles at my last yard...... horses that came out with 'signs' hadnt left the yard for 3 years.... horse that brought it in had been on yard for 4 months!, came about as said horse 'sheaded' it due to stress over winter, so wouldnt had even shown with 2 weeks isolation when first arrived!
so a good idea and could install confidence..... but i dont think its been thought through
Having had some recent experience of strangles blood tests and all sorts of confusion surrounding the results I personally don't see how this could work
