Our vet was here earlier today to a foal who appears bruised after a knock or fall, and also warned me to make sure we isolate completely any new horses arriving here for at least 4 weeks.
He said it's spreading fast and especially from anything bought from the sales.
I had heard of a few cases but had no idea you needed to isolate for 4 weeks (we normally do two) and will now be on my guard.
I had dismissed the talk that it was so widespread as exaggeration, but apparently not..
Please pass this on to anyone where new horses might arrive.
