Sorry this is rather late news but only just seen it on Essex Horse and Pony Trust web site

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL HORSE OWNERS IN THE ESSEX AREA

We have today (3 July 2009) been made aware that five ponies and one horse were removed from a stable yard in Daws Heath to another yard by their owner.

THE NEW YARD OWNER/LIVERIES SHOULD BE AWARE THAT THESE PONIES MAY BE CARRYING THE STRANGLES BACTERIA.

WE HAVE REASON TO BELIEVE THEY ARE NOW IN THE SOUTHEND AREA.

IF THE PONIES/HORSE (DESCRIPTIONS LISTED BELOW) ARE ON YOUR YARD OR YOU KNOW OF THEIR WHEREABOUTS, WOULD YOU PLEASE CONTACT SUE ALLERY ON 07515 565089
AS A MATTER OF URGENCY?

The owner of the ponies and horse is fully aware of the consequences of introducing these ponies to a new yard and exposing other horses to the illness, but has IRRESPONSIBLY REFUSED to comply with taking the necessary precautionary measures.

THANK YOU
