I'm not sure if this is ok to post? But I thought it may be a good idea for us to have somewhere to share info regarding yards hit by this cr*py virus.

My intention is NOT to blacklist yards or damage any business but to simple share news regarding confirmed cases / testing clear and yards under quarentine?

I have been searching around for info on a case in the stockton area and have been met with responses of 'clear' and 'not clear' which is more damaging to business because people stay away just incase?

I dunno maybe I'm just waffling on... but might be a good idea?

I lost a lovely Shettie to a ******* form of the virus- it was awful and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. The more info we have the better!

I think that it's unlikely to work.

Strangles is a very emotive subject and often information about an outbreak is hyped up and, in a lot of cases, tends to be via friends of a friend who knows someone type of thing. Information gets distorted in the telling.

Unfortunately this can be VERY damaging to businesses.

Then if all businesses did the same thing, and said when it was clear once the second swabs came back, it wouldn't be- and I wouldn't have picked it up from a yard that didn't stop visitors or tell anyone and pass it to my Shettie who died.

Oh I see. You mean a page where only livery yard owners post the status of an outbreak at their yard. I thought littlemisslauren's post meant a page where everyone would post information.

I just wish the stigma of strangles could be removed. A page / site just for livery owners to post with confirmed cases and clear swabs would be very helpful, but I can't see many owners doing this.

It was horrid LML, I remember going up and thinking '****, strangles... It's ok, it'll be horrid but he'll be ok' and when it mutated, he had ulcers everywhere and internal and external... It was godawful.

I understand where you're coming from, and it annoys me greatly (cant post what I was going to say) when yards have a confirmation yet the next week someone from the same place is out competing when they havent had the all clear.
