Few weeks ago yes around Droitwich. The Worcestershire had 2 weeks rest. Other cases were mentioned by my farrier round belbroughton ( kidderminster and hagley area) and Bromsgrove. Am out the zone so not sure of updates.

The Worcestershire stopped hunting for 2 weeks and the opening meet was delayed for a week, on the local vets' advice. Members of the Worcestershire were also asked NOT to go visiting to other hunts! I don't think any other events were cancelled, although some things were a bit quieter than usual. This was around the end of October and beginning of November. As far as I know the outbreak in the Droitwich area has cleared, but I don't know about further afield.

No horses are not clear, spoke to my vet today after finding out infected horses had been 50 yards from my healthy ones. Thank goodness when they moved their horses I took mine next morning home. We are isolated as all our own land and have not met any other horses to hack out with. Keeping ourselves to ourselves!

Oh dear, I didn't know it was still around. I seldom see other horses when I am hacking, which is good and I am not competing at the moment.

What about farriers/vets?

The vets will do the strangles work at the end or beginning of their day and wash/change overalls and boots etc.

Whether farriers would be diligent is hard to say. It is owners that could play the biggest part in controlling spread by not travelling and competing at the moment, but from what I have seen and heard recently many owners seem to be head in sand, won't happen to me and bxxxxx everyone else attitude.

Don't panic it's very localised....between Droitwich and ombersley. Vets very up with it, mine told me don't share buckets etc.... Are you in the same area orangehorse?

The Wheatland Hunt are taking precautions had an email come through to say a case has been confirmed (doesn't say where) & that they are placing a temporary ban on all visitors - I am unsure if this is just for the next hunt or next few x

Still between Droitwich and Ombersley? Eek, that is a bit too close for comfort - but not THAT close, I wouldn't be seeing any horses from that area. More worried about the farrier really, will have to contact him.

Had heard a couple of weeks ago of a case in Lowsonford/Henley area - not treated by me vet so couldn't confirm if it is only a rumour...

Moreton Morrell college cancelled their SJ tonight and this weekends dressage competition because of warnings of strangles in the area...
