strapping

Is anyone aware of scientific evidence that strapping works? It does remind me of those gadgets you can buy for humans that are supposed to stimulate your muscles whilst you sit on the sofa.

No idea!

The physio saw my chap yesterday and explained that the muscles in his off-hind quarters had switched off, probably following box rest a few months ago.

She said work etc will build the muscle but that when they switch off they sometimes don't come back on so it needs to wake back up before it can develop. She said you are trying to encourage the muscle to contract in anticipation of the next strap. He isn't contracting at all and that side is visibly less developed than the other.

Will report back any results over the next month :)

Thanks for your reply. I'd be interested to hear how you get on.

My physio uses H wave therapy on my mare to release muscle tension. I wonder if this might be beneficial for your horse.
