I went to Stratford Hills yesterday to watch Rosie and her two new girls. Overall - pretty good (but boy, did we get wet, twice!). Both did DCs, which is good, and Lotus Eater came 3rd, which is very good as it was her first time out with Rosie. She was entered in the intro although her record shows she's done novice because she seems to have lost her way a bit and the idea was to build her confidence. 35.3 dressage, no signs of stopping SJ and after a slight blip over the drop before the woods (and a gentle slap on the bum) she looked every bit the confident eventer.
Just a Token's win at Prestwold was beginner's luck perhaps. She was very naughty in the dressage 'disobedient' to quote the judge - and trampled her way out of the arena trying not to do as she was told (I think when she was supposed to be going from trot to canter round a corner - forgive me, I don't really understand dressage) but at least she didn't get into the next-door arena. So 46 and second from last at that point. But then she did an excellent DC with the XC taking place in bucketing rain and finished in 21st place. I gather she's in season, but that's no excuse.

Anyway, Rosie and parents are very pleased with their progress so far and they've only had them for 3 or 4 weeks so fingers crossed for the future.
