PC Karen Beaty of Strathclyde Police is setting up a Horsewatch scheme in her police area. She would like to hear from those persons in the equine community in her area who can assist her in getting the scheme up and running. As always the success of any Horsewatch scheme is the working partnership between the police and the community. To make her scheme work Karen will need the communities help. Strathclyde Police area is large and not only includes Glasgow but takes in a great deal of rural and island location. In fact the police area covers 5,370 square miles of Argyllshire, Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, Aryshire and the Isle of Arran

Karen’s contact number is 07868 098605

Or e mail karenbt@sky.com

Hi Christi
I am Co-ordinator for Dumfries and Galloway, please join us
I use my D&G Horse Forum to spread info on Stolen Horses nationally and local issues
At the moment I have no budget but hoping to get a telephone messaging alert system going for any local warnings.
The Forum has been used to track ''white van man'' knocking at remote properties across the Region etc
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/DGHFinfo/
Page on D&G Police web site imminent
So really to try to promote freezemarking tack marking trailer marking and with Farmwatch there is a move to use Smartwater across the region.
