Just wondering if anyone beds their horse on straw that has a dust allergy? Or even has the ocassional cough?

I'm thinking back a few years BUT we had one with COPD (it has another name now I think?) and she was on straw. She managed fine without any recercussions etc although we made sure the straw was good quality.
She coughed occassionally and TBH, the indoor school was worse for her, so she was out hacking more than lessons. She's now in her 20s and going well.
