Definite no - I know someone on here has had one successfully treated but I think it all depends who has done the work - the 5 I know who have been treated have all reverted to having issues and all in time were destroyed.
Don;t think I'd want to risk it unless of course it was a free companion type
Would depend on the surgeon and the rehab programme and age of ned when it had op, a youngster has much more chance of being sorted. Mine is doing well after KS surgery but I do think you also have to be aware of mental/behavioural problems that being in long term pain causes. You can operate to take the pain away but it takes a bit of work to make them forget the pain and there can be some longterm learnt behaviours in some horses that make them hard work. Mind you would still buy mine as he is a poppet, just a complicated one, but if there was an easy straightforward horse out there for the same money would go for that!
My mare had both of these. She was never ridden again as the suspensory never came right. The kissing spine was operated on successfully however. So no, I wouldnt buy a horse that already had these problems.
I have to say I think you are all being quite negative and yes I would seriously consider buying a horse who has had surgery and recovered. A friend has a lovely boy who has had surgery and now competing at Elementary and he had three spinous process removed and my boy had it last year and is also well on the road to recovery although it is a long and tedious recovery, so there may well be a lot of horses in the world but there are also lovely ones who have a few parts of their spine missing!!
Speaking personally, I am answering in the negative based on my experience of kissing spine. There are so many horses out there, to buy one with this history it would have to be very cheap. I should imagine your insurance cover would be interesting as well.
