Im moving all my ponies shortly and Im just so anxious about it. Worried about the lunatic I shared a field with turning up while I’m moving them and causing problems (I’m paid up to date, they know I’m moving, they’re just genuinely unhinged). Worried about them loading. Worried about them travelling. Worry worry worry. Don’t have any parents so if anyone is feeling a bit mumsey and fancies reassuring me I’d appreciate it.

Aw, I'm sure it will all be fine. Have you got anyone who can go along with you? 'All' sounds like a few of them, is there a reliable one you can load first to give the others a lead. Have you got stuff to move with them too? If you make sure everything is prepared & ready to go you'll feel more organised & in control. Remember people move their ponies/horses to new homes all the time. It will help if you stay calm so try not to overthink everything & focus on the positive.

Take all your stuff away in the days before. Walk your ponies away from the field/yard/stable and down the road and load them up and away so there can be no confrontation if you are worried.Tie them along side the lorry if more than 2.

I moved mine last year so feel your anxiety! Practice loading them all together in the spot you will load them before D-day to increase your confidence (and theirs) and see if you can find a calm experienced handler to have with your or on standby on the day. Lower your expectations of them in the days/weeks following the move - remember they are context specific learners so what they did well as their current home may not necessarily translate to their new environment. Goodluck!

Move stuff away earlier than ponies, then on the day take a friend and move the ponies the day before you ve told the people you are anxious about. Be calm and matter of fact with the ponies and have lots of bribery foods with you. Take a squirt of Bachs remedy for yourself before you start. You ll be fine honestly.

It's always an anxious time, but if you can be as prepared as possible, (so as already mentioned, make sure you have all your stuff moved already). You could start them on some gut support supplement to mitigate the stress a few days before the move and keep them on it til they're settled. You could give them a dose of liquid Valerian shortly before you load them, and put the boss one on first and hopefully the rest will just follow. Hope you have a friend to give you a hand/ deflect mad person should they turn up? Is it your own transport? If so, a few loading practice sessions is a good idea if they havent travelled for a while. If it's a transport company moving you, they are brilliant at coping with the horse side of things, as they've seen it all a million times before. It won't be anything like as bad as you think it will, and think how wonderful the new place will be. Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

I feel your pain but in my experience they do tend to keep out of the way. mine stood around further down the farm talking to another livery as I was leaving.

maybe if you are that worried you could let us know your area and someone might be local enough that they could come along for moral support?

also if you could go on a week day while they're at work, that might help?

I know these things are personal, but this is what helps me.
The day will start and the day will end and there's not a thing you can do about it.
By days end ponies will all be where they should be so it will be a win.
