Hi all,
So my dressage skills is rather lacking but am doing my first ODE on Sunday and could use some help. I'm doing the pony club introductory test 2007.
One of the movements is free walk on a long rein, MEF. So my question is do I sort of do a curved shape? Do I touch the track at E? As it's free walk are they looking for me to be able to turn pone with my seat rather than reins?
As you can tell i've done very little dressage but want to make sure I get it right.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

You do touch the track at E, sort of a Zig-Zag shape, and just turn how you would normally turn i guess, don't tense up when you turn, just keep relaxed and yes use you're legs. Sorry not much help!

Free walk on a long rein is when the horse stretches down on a longer rein (normally as in cooling down) but you keep a contact and dont throw all the reins at the horse.... MEF..... at M you walk a stright line from M to E and then another straight line from E to F (tip of arrow shape)
Good luck!!!

Okay thanks guys. Unfortunatly I know what free walk is but don't think the pony does, she sees it more as a snacking oportunity.
What you've said makes sense and it's what i've been doing when i've been practising but I just wanted to make sure I was right. I'm so nervous

As Ovidius said it's 2 short straight lines, don't worry about your free walk, it's one of the most difficult things to master, that's why you get double points! (well you do at BD
