I was told by the physio to do some stretches before working him
i make him walk backwards and then forwards again several times, to help with his locking stifle. then do some stretches for treats where i ask him to bend both ways (left and right) several times, also make him stretch to the floor between his front feet to stretch across his back
he doesnt seem so stiff/tight when i first get on since i been doing this
I used to, but then I think I caused problems by doing carrot stretches incorrectly. My chiro has done an app though which I am going to download and use - it has verbal instructions so you can set it going and do your horse whilst it goes
similar to what i do, but not the walking back and foreward bit.
I stretch front legs, hind legs tail pull he is just getting used to that now, he used to come back towards me whe i first statred doing it..lol also stretch back leg and neck stretches both side's, im sure it helps, he seems to be very flexible, but just wondered how many people did it and what they thought.
Ive also invested in a equilrium massage pad and he loves it, proper pampered boy
