Have had my mare now for 2 months, and when I bought her I knew she had slight stringhalt. I have noticed on warm dry days there is no sign of it whatsoever, but when its a bit damp and cold its more apparent. Starting to wonder how she'll be through the winter, and whether there's anything I can give her supplement wise that may help. The vet didn't seem worried about it at the vetting, but that was done on a warm day as well. Does anyone have experience of this condition that could maybe give me a bit of advice, thanks

there some thought that stringhalt is related to EPSM in horses.

EPSM is generally helped by a low startch/sugar high oil diet with a vita e and selenium suppliment.

Do some google searches on it quite a lot comes up.

Whether it actually works I don't know as the suspected stringhalt mare I had turned out to have an absess!
