Now we have had a bit of a laminitus warning, I have put a grazing muzzle on Donovan, which, to begin with he seemed to be getting along with ok. But the last 2 days he has managed to get the thing off! And I think probably by doing so, he has also rubbed the side of his head.
So I am now coming round to the idea of fencing a bit of the field off for him, so he cant get to all of the grass. Would it be better to give him a strip of field, or a square? And how much? He is a 12.2hh welsh sec B.

Smaller than you think. I have a menage sized area (but longer and thinner, water at one end and hay feeder at the other) for four horses at the moment and some of it is roadway. There are sixty odd sheep on the rest of the field and they are making little impact as everything is growing so much (although possibly just starting to slow down now).

May friend did a corridor round her paddock, so essentially there was a square in the middle and the corridor went round the perimeter (if that makes sense)

She made it fairly narrow so they spent a lot of time walking to get to any grazing!
