I have in my care now a little pony (17yr) who has had a blood clot and this has left his face droopy :-( He can eat long grass but has to be over an inch or two in length and a bit of hard feed (takes ages!)

I was wondering if he should be on anything to help him? Supplement/ exercise etc...
Will he possibly ever regain use of his mouth?
Any other people had this experience as this is all new to me!? Only had him a week

Poor little mite. He is delightful though and seems happy enough... as he wasnt wanted by the kiddy anymore he will be retired at mine.

not sure on horses / ponies but for humans it can take a long time, sometimes up to year to get function back, how long ago did it happen as this could have some bearing on how long or if its likely to improve. good for you for taking him on, poor little pony deserves a retirement by the sounds of it :)

Hi sory to hear about your pony. sroke's are horrid. I should know as currently stuck in hospital after suffering from one over 6 weeks agog. I lost all feeling in my left leg NAND srm. After hours of physio my leg is slowly returning but notuhing min my am. It's horrible. I just want to go home and ride my horse but I can' walk or stand up so none of this is currently possible. Worst time of my life xx

Thank you I'm only 33, I didn't think this was possible at my age but itvreally is. Happened due to falling off a bike, could easily have been due to a horse fall so be careful everyone- you never know what is round the corner. Never in a million years did I expect tis to unhappiness to me!!
