Strong calmers

My pony is just coming back into work after a operation to fuse his hocks but is extremely excitable. He will find something to spook at and then will just bronc! He's not in any pain it is just sheer excitement and having too much energy seeing as he's only in a stable sized paddock and can only be walked. I'm thinking of using the syringe calmers to start off with until the supplement calmer starts to work as he's just getting dangerous!
 
He gets a tiny handfull of mix, drop of molasses (he wont eat his bute without this so no question of removing it) and half a scoop of alfa a lite. The grass is really poor at the moment as the YO wont remove the sheep from the field so he needs something to replace it aswell as getting some hay which is soaked for about 12 hours
