So I have a welsh sec D who is very prone to laminitis. Where I keep her I don't have the choice to keep her in, she is out 24/7 with a grazing muzzle on from Spring through to Autumn and then she can winter out without it on and receives adlib hay and a good balancer.

Anyway, the muzzle is the problem. I have gone through 3 now , 2 ill fitting ones that she could just eek her nose out of all the time and then the last one which I loved (the Shires Deluxe) she has completely ripped to pieces, all 3 straps attached to the muzzle are ripped off and was left laying in the middle of the field.
Anyway, before I had her laminitis was so bad that her getting it again even mildly isn't an option so I wondered if any of you knew of any stronger muzzles out there that she can't break? I don't like restricting her grazing as I found that didn't really help as it just kept her more stationary and I need her to have access to her field shelter which isn't moveable.

Many thanks

I have used a dinky muzzle for both our 8hh mini and my 15.1hh cob. Both have lasted all summer and are still going strong. Neither have managed to break or remove their muzzles nor have they rubbed so for those reasons I think Dinky Muzzles are ace!!

Greenguard. They're not cheap but they're brilliant. They don't rub & they can't get them off. I also like them because they appear more breathable than the other ones.

This! I wouldn't bother with anything else as the other muzzles can cause a Lot of frustration. They seem to be much more chilled with the greenguards and I've yet to have one get one off.
