me and my mare (poppy) have been having jumping lesson's she's been really good have slowed her down loads (she normally run's at fence 100MPH!) but had lesson yesterday and she's gone back to her old way's which makes my hands come up and i just ride terrible. dont no why she's done this. she has also started grabbing bit and running off! she's in a waterford snaffle. she's 22 and very set in her ways but we had done really well in changing her mind about going so fast at the jumps, so very confused at the moment. also took her for gallop down the beach few days ago and i could'nt stop which has never happened and we go to beach at least once a week or every other week. do you think a change of bit??? please help.

think she might be coming into season but it's very hard to tell with poppy.

My mare is 34 & still runs off with people if she's in the mood.

She goes best in a pelham cos she doesn't take any notice of anything else. Milder bits are like riding in a headcollar.

Think it might be a bit late for her to mend her ways.

no hope for me and poppy then!

dont want to change her just want to slow her down a bit when jumping she still goes fast but no where near what she used to. she does like the pelham but she goes nice for a while then it's almost like she's figured a way out of it.

so i do change bits a lot.
