My mare is finally having to learn that she can't have things her own way. It isn't pretty but hopefully in a few weeks she will realise that it's actually a good thing. She is forward going and I love her to bits but she evades any contact and refuses to move. I have spent hundreds of pounds on physio, mctimony, saddle and even blood tests and there is nothing wrong with her. Her teeth are up to date as well. This week we got tough and god did she protest! Bucking, napping, spooking. Anything to get out of doing as asked. I have been told that she will get through this. Has anyone else had to get tough with a horse that just didn't want to work with you? I hate being this tough with her but I do believe that we will have a better relationship once we get through this.
