Sold my old lorry this week to a lovely family as needed something with more living to stay away in. Dont have a great deal to spend and im not fussy re looks as long as its sound in engine, floor etc and can take 3. OMG well I cant find anything, those I have rung are already sold and the ones I have viewed are nothing like the adverts :mad: I have an event coming up soon and panicking I wont have one in time. Any suggestions on good websites to look etc????? Thanks!!

Theres lots of HGV lorries on horsequest, i was looking yesterday (not that i need a new lorry though!).

To get an HGV though is going to be quite expensive, as im assuming its 3 horses and not 3 ponies you are travelling?

Took me 12 months to find a lorry, I too look at lorry that were advertised as one thing, but when you turned up were completely different, for the worst too....... One will come your way soon. We did spend more than we orginally wanted too, but then we got what we wanted, so you might have to review your finances....

Can remember years ago I sold a lorry at the end of the outdoor season and then spent ages looking for the next one, went to see quite a few which were nothing like advertised, wasting a lot of time and petrol. Eventually bought one from a horsebox dealer.

I have just started to look at them too and the major issue I have is that they never tell you what the unladen weight is, they tell you lots of other stuff but for me the most important is how much weight I have left to put all my bits in. I like Ebay and horsequest.
I think I am going to spend more on phone calls at this rate than petrol lol.

I know of some one selling a 3 horse stalled box on a H reg, very nice living and told ex con, i have'nt seen it just got told about it yesterday... if you p.m me i can give you his number. :)

Whatever you find, please take it to a weighbridge & find out how much the payload is.

I know of a box which is stalled for 3 & had a payload of 3/4 ton (it was a 7.5ton chassis), which is barely enough for one. It was cheap, but not worth the risk.

I think the problem I found is that older ones (and therefore cheaper) tend to be heavier.... and therefore you don't get three horses and proper living. I ended up compromising on living and getting space/weight for three on an '94 chassis (got 2.3t payload which is moer than enough for my three as little one is only 420kg).

ITs nightmare. It really annoys me that the adverts dont have the unladen weight and the internal horse dementions but the advets do usually tell you about the colour and paint job!

I couldn't care less if its pink with stars on, can it safely carry horses.

I am looking too and having real trouble too. I dont need a 3 horse one but will need 7.5 ton due to 2 horses 17 hand and 16.2. I dont care what it is or what work needs doing so long s it gets me there.
