Which make do you think is better for a plain cavesson bridle ?

They are both around the same price range, can't decide!

My current bridle has been with me for 15 years and it's still lovely when it gets cleaned and oiled although I would like to have a spare and just feel like buying a new one.

I posted a bridle on here a short while ago and was told to steer clear, so am hoping I might get some better replies concerning these 2 bridles.

This one :

Both would be brown as have brown tack.

Thanks for your input

Don't know about the Stubben (although a friend has an ancient on that still comes up beautifully when cleaned), but I love the Wembley. The colour of the Havana is beautiful and they have a really nice 'feel' to them. We sell them at work and I stroke them occasionally, wishing that my lad didn't go so well in a Micklem!

The Jefferies looks much nicer, it has a comfort headpiece which is well padded and they are very good quality leather, the price is more reasonable as well which would swing it for me.

Jeffries all day long! Stubben is good quality but jeffries is by far imo better. I gave away all my stubben briddles and replaced with jeffries.

I love my Stubben saddles but I have to say my Stubben bridles don't really come up to scratch for me; I wouldn't buy any more. Jeffries make beautiful bridle work and I'd choose a Jeffries bridle over a Stubben one any day.

I love both, although my Stubbens are old but still in daily use.

While I love Jeffries leather work, the last bridle lasted about 2 weeks. OH caught it on a gate latch, the horse pulled back and the blasted thing snapped in half.

But equally, the leather surrounding the stitching on my Stubben stirrup leathers has ripped too.

Must be me.
Sorry, I'm no help at all.

TBH, any bridle would do that you can't blame the make at all.

For me, Jeffries every time; they have always been made from class materials and workmanship. Stubben are the only saddles that have ever given me blisters even when riding for hours every day and the saddles have been looked after well; they just don't suit my bum whatever size or shape of them!

Jeffries everytime! I had a stubben bridle and wasn't keen at all as it looked worn quite quickly, where as everything jeffries i've had has lasted really well and scrubbed up well even after hunting. I was told stubben changed their factory a few years ago so used to make great stuff but now you're paying for the brand - not sure how true it is but it seems to make sense.

I have a stubben 3000 Limerick with original rubber reins with RRP being about £120 - It's lush, not used atm and hasn't been for about 5 years as both my neddies have brown tack. :D Hoping to use on next horse with black tack!! :) Not experienced Jefferies.

I have two stubben bridles that are 20 and 22/3 years old apiece......both serviceable and scrub up fine if I put the effort in! However, must confess they are now my 'day' bridles as opposed to my best. Can't fault them for longevity though!

Definitely Jeffries, I have a lovely Jeffries bridle and my friend rides her horse in stubben tack (both saddle and bridle) I just don't like it, leather doesn't seem quite as good as Jeffries and the saddle is ugly. But that's just one set of tack, i'm sure they do nicer stuff!

Jeffries! I have 2, a new one and one that is 22 yrs old and still good for the show ring!
I personally have had really bad experiences with stubben, perticularly the reins! I've had reins snap within days of buying them doing nothing more than lead the horse to the school!
