Hi all, I have a Stubben Genesis De Lux jump saddle which is stamped as 31....does this translate to Medium Wide or Wide???? I'm finding the stubben sizes a little confusing :S
The points are long so that measurement is taken at a relatively "wider" point on the tree compared to a saddle with shorter points, if that makes sense So yes, they do come up narrow. I do think some models vary so proceed with caution!
a 31 is a med /wide. 32 wide and they also do an XW which equates to a 34. the important thing to look at when fitting stubbens is the angle of the tree point against the horses back - do not get bogged down by how many fingers you can fit under the pommel as stubbens have a narrow twist and often sit high on a flat withered horse which can be misleading. obviously there is alot more to consider though than just the tree points. prettypony95 i,m a stubben trained fitter and if you need any help than pm me with a contact number and i would be happy to oblige :0)
