hi there is a second hand 18'' stubben siegfried saddle in tan good condition for sale at my local saddlers. other half sat in it last night and liked it ( more room for his knees), it is up for £200. would it be worth this??
a will get a saddler to look at it before riding my my horse in it??

i'd check underneath it, that it isn't the old type with hard rounded panels so it's like sitting on top of two rolling pins. SSs were famous for this.

lovely for riders' bums, not so great for horses' backs. sounds like a good price, if you stuck a prolite under it it would help a lot i guess/hope.

I have just bought a new one of these. Lovely deep saddles. It was the only one that fit my horse and me. I have long legs and the deep seat and long flaps accomodated this. It is very comfortable, if a tad hard on the seat bones but I feel safe in it, which is good at the minute as my horse has taken to having a big lift to her canter. £200 is a good price if it isnt too old as someone has said above, they can be a little hard on the horses backs. Mine has the extra piece put in the back gusset too so it doesnt banana on the horses back. If you decide to buy it you could always get a good saddler to come out and fit it to your horse if the tree fits, that way, it can have a whole new lot of filling added to soften it up.
