I have a parallax hay ball and its genuinely been the best horsey purchase I have ever made. Now I've got 2 ponies I wanted another one and stumbled across the hay rollers. I've ordered one from rideaway and it can always go back if its no good, I just wondered if anyone had one and what they thought of them? And how much hay can you get in them? I cant find that info anywhere.

They have a place .... they are heavy, relatively annoying to fill and I did find that when I used them everyday the horse got a rub mark. But they don’t roll out of the field and a lot less wastage and slower eating when leaving hay in a wet field.

I want to use them on my mini track. Its pretty much bare now and I feed hay in a crate, but they just stand there stuffing their faces! I'll post back once it arrives and I get chance to have a play with it.

The older ones dont have lid, so I can see if horses were constantly pushing their face in the big hole, that they could end up rubbed.

It arrived today and its a hit! Its enormous and holds probably 6kgs of hay if you cram it in. I've just ordered another one so they have one each

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but did you find that the rollers ended up just going around in one circle and would therefore cause poaching?

I like the idea of a hayball or similar to help stop poaching and wastage but I'm not sure the balls look big enough or if the rollers would cause poaching..
