Hi all, looking at potentially buying a few Stubbs Smoothie slip on saddle rack covers for my saddles, has anyone used these?
Currently using half pads and towels to pad out my racks and I know some people use cut up pool noodles but was wondering if something custom made would be better and easier to use?

Use an old pillow and duct tape, anything hard can dent saddles, as can pool noodles (actually it's easier to use piping insulation but...) they're just different shaped dents! Towels and even half pads are usually too firm and push the pressure up through them.

I found an old split bucket, cable tied on, extremely effective. Especially a gorilla type one that can be cut to shape with a craft knife. At home I just had poles like Red.

Was/is this for flocked or air panels though? I don't recommend hard surfaces for flocked panels. I've seen dents from beautiful hand made wooden saddle racks!

Sorry jumping on this. I have an old handmade saddle horse that I pop a couple of poly pads on and then my saddle. Would this damage it?

Possibly, only you will be able to tell, Run your hands under the saddle on the stand, do the panels feel completely even from side to side and front to back? The one I saw recently left large flat areas from the front to the middle as the saddle was dropping in front. The poly pads may help or they may tip the saddle and make it worse. We don't do enough feeling, feeling what the horse is feeling when we put the saddle on top (ie run our hands under it), or when we're storing the saddle. I was guilty of it too!

Hmm thanks guys, probably give the Stubbs thing a miss then. Don't think pillows and duct tape would work in the space I have sadly however I may be able to switch to poles, will have a look
