Stud Girth Questions

1) Do you measure a stud girth the same way you do a normal short girth? eg. if i take my current girth to the tack shop will the same size stud girth fit?
2) Is it better for stud girths to be leather; or are ones like the HY Comfort Waffle Stud Girth just as good?
3) Are all stud girths elasticated; and if they are not, which is better to get? (I know this can be personal preference!)
4) Any personal favourites out there/bad experiences?

Yep measured the same way. Mine is a mark todd stud girth, leather with small elastic section on each side. I don't have any experience of the non leather brands but what I like about mine is that it is very very thick, there is no way he would feel the stud impact at all through it. You can see the marks on it where he has tucked under, so I know its serving its purpose.
