stud girths

with the deep ground we have had recently i have been putting some BIG studs in buster. i only have a normal girth on and altough i have always put studs in and never had a problem now i have had to use these big ones i was wondering if its worth getting a stud girth?

as you can see in pic below although he picks his feet up they dont really come underneath him

we have just moved up to novice eventing and now the fences are that bit bigger is it really fair to risk it without a stud girth?

No harm having one, can cause probs if dont have one....

derby house do a nice sheepskin lined on for about £70.

yeah i put one on my novice horse just because its safer to. picked up on that velcros round the girth so although a little fiddly to put on it never stretchs and can be put on various girths, cost £50 but worth it i think
