I'm in the process of needing to buy studs for XC, SJ and dressage on grass. I have no idea what ones to get really. There's so many out there! My horse is very established in canter and very balanced, but especially when I've been XC schooling, tight turns make me rather uneasy, and find myself really pulling up to be safe (esp if the ground is either rather wet, or rock solid with slightly slippery grass). SJ on grass pretty much the same thing, dressage - not so bothered, but a little something might be good?

Are kits the way forward, or buying everything individually?

Any advice much appreciated!

Thanks!
Steff

Have a look at the supastuds website. Loads of reviews and opinions on here say they are the best and I have never had an issue studding with them.

I didn't go with a kit, I made my own up.

Small Conical Studs
Domed studs for deeper, greasy going
flat travel studs - they are the best! put them in the night before for hassel free studding on the day.
Vaseline & cigarette filters for stuffing holes.
Cheap adjustable spanner from B&Q
couple of farriers nails for cleaning holes.
Supastuds magnetic wrist band.

Never needed a tap or a brushy thing.

(I only stud with 2 in each hind. None in the front)

hey Steff

It's is way better to get a kit rather then buying individually and may I suggest buying a super studs kit. My boss is uses them and highly recommends them .
