Hello Everyone,
I've posted this on the Competition Riders area too but just trying to get as wide a view as possible! Sorry if you've already read this, and thanks to those who have already answered the questionnaire!
I am currently a 4th year mechanical engineering student at The University of Sheffield and my final year project is to investigate the traction effects of studs in horse shoes. No scientific research has ever actually been done to see where riders should place studs in different ground conditions, so I am hoping to set up a mechanical rig to mimic the action of horse shoes with different stud formations in various surfaces.
I have show-jumped most of my life so have a good background in the area but I have formulated a questionnaire to help get a better idea of how riders use studs in the wider equestrian world.
The questionnaire is only 6 short questions and shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. I have put the link below, and would be very grateful if you could take the time to complete it!
Thank you very much!
