ok so just a few stupid questions about studs
1. do i need all 4 shoes? she can have all 4 just choose not too
2.how much does it cost, is it extra for stud holes?
3.how many stud holes do i need in each shoe?

any other stuff you know would be great thansk :)

All I can answer is 3! Sorry, but will watch this with interest! :) I think the norm for studs is 2 in each shoe? One on either side. Talk to your farrier about it, he may be able to recommend something, depending on your requirements etc. Sorry I'm so useless :D xx

Hi, yes better to have in all 4 feet, the norm is 2 per foot but one on the outside would prob be enough for the height your doing, and yes the farrier will charge per hole he puts it!! Not sure on the price depends on how friendly you are with your farrier. :)

You would need studs in all four shoes.

Stud holes cost extra to the normal shoeing, in our area it's 50p per hole, but check with your own farrier as prices vary across the country.

Some people have one stud in each shoe but I & many believe to keep the feet balanced & giving the best grip you need 2 in each shoe (one either side of the shoe)

There are many different studs available, different shapes & lengths depending on the condition of the ground you are riding on. Look on sites like 'Supastuds' for information regarding the various studs.
