Designing a stud for 25 visiting mares, 25 own mares, 4 stallions then obviously foals.
How many mares could you put into one field together at how many acres? and how many mares and foals could you put in how many acres?
and would 2 acres be enough for a stallion?
thanx

I thought it was half to one acre per horse....

It's going to vary from season to season - but 1 - 1.5 acres per horse is the minimum.

As for your other questions it depends if the mares are in foal, when they are due, what breed the horses are, how well they react to strange horses etc. etc. etc.

For stallions - again, it depends on the breed, season, whether they are covering or not, whether they are being exercised etc. etc. However, I would say the same - 1.5 acres - but flexibility is a good thing.
