i want to start seriously jumping this year with my mare and was wondering if i needed to use studs on my mare? i know that if i want studs i need to get the holes tapped at the time of shoeing.

but can someone give me the ins and outs of studs and there uses.

thank you in advance

if your jumping on surfaces then no, but if its grass and depending on the conditions you may want them, you will prob want them on grass if you are jumping at a decent height

Yes don't need studs for surfaces, good for slippy grass really.
Good points- help with grip, etc..
Bad- annoying having to keep the stud holes clean before comps, and frustrating to put in on an over excited horse on the morning!!
