can anyone advise us complete numptys on the subject,

Can a horse that has not got good action, i.e. not straight behind due to confirmational problem - leans out on feltlock and hoof twisted inwards, compete in dressage or eventing. Fault does not make him lame and has great jump so will get rount the XC and showjumping.

Don't know anything about dressage - is the horse marked on confirmation?

If the horse moves equally behind hen there is no reason why his marks should suffer. You ma find as he goes up the grades and has to perform lateral movements and show greater collection and extension that there is some inequality in the movement, but if he is fine on straight lines and circles then there is no reason why he shouldn't be fine at the lower levels.

If a judge believes a horse to be unsound they can pull them up in their test and eliminate them at their discretion. However it rarely happens as much unlevelness is rider-induced so very hard for a judge to determine.

Thanks a million for your reply......I should probably know these things but if you have never had to deal with a horse with a confirmational fault before, its not something you would ask!
