Stupid grakle question

Can anyone help me?! Does this grakle look like its in the right place? I've never used one before and it just looks a little low to me.
Also what is the difference between this crossed grakle and a mexican grakle in terms of the action? (I know a mexican grakle sits much higher up the cheeks)

i am no expert, but have a mexican grackle. the mexican has fixed metal rings where the noseband part meets the head part ,so less movement with twisting around the head. it also fits higher up the head, and thus i believe is slightly stronger.
the fitting of any grackle should not obstruct the nostrils.
 
That is a traditional grackle fitting in the correct place, unlike a mexican noseband with high rings yours will stop the jaw from crossing, whereas the fancy high ring versions only really close the mouth.
 
Im more concerned by how much pressure the headpiece looks to be exerting behind horses ears - is that normal?? Mine certainly doesnt do that!!!

Thats an elevation bridle which has a very soft padded piece of leather beneath the headpiece cut into the shape of the horses ears to eleviate any unwanted pressure and help horses from painful poll pressure!!!!
 
Ok pleae don't take offence to this - but I would drop that gag down to the slightest wrinkle on the mouth (might be pulled across one side so not as wrinkled as it looks). The gag will slide up on the weakest contact, so its set just a tad high in a snaffle position in that piccy.
 
Ok thanks, I've never had to use anything as strong as this on a horse before (normally all went xc in a snaffle or something similar!) So still trying to learn. Its much different actually fitting one no matter how many you have seen!
